OOC: POSTING ON BEHALF OF PETER VAUGHN WHO IS UNAVAILABLE DO TO A PRIOR ENGAGEMENT, BUT THIS IS HIS RP.
~As the sun begins to set over the stunning landscape of the Waikiki beachfront, the camera settles on a man walking out casually from the nearby hotel. As he gets closer, Peter Vaughn can be seen to be dressed quite differently from normal. He’s wearing a long, white robe, probably borrowed from the hotel room. From the part that’s slightly open, it looks like he’s not wearing a shirt underneath. Whether he’s wearing trunks or not is unknown, although we can only hope so.~
~Vaughn stops near the edge of the beach, with a strange expression on his face. It could be a sign of relaxation, something you never see from the high-energy Vaughn. He actually seems to be smiling as he begins to untie his robe, planning to head out into the water. That’s when he hears the groan from nearby.~
Peter Vaughn: … Well, it’s not my problem if somebody has been partying too hard.
~He takes another step towards the waves, getting close enough to get his bare feet wet, when he once again hears a groan. It appears to be coming from in front of him, strangely enough. Vaughn looks closer, realizing that a rowboat appears to be floating there, just a little off-shore.~
Peter Vaughn: …. Damn it.
~Even Vaughn can’t ignore something like this. He reaches into his robe pocket, bringing out his phone, and turns on the flashlight feature. He then starts moving deeper into the water, his robe floating out around him as he reaches out and grabs the boat, looking inside. He looks shocked, recognizing the man inside.~
Peter Vaughn: Is that Xavier? Son of a…
~Vaughn drags the boat along, managing to get it to shore. He gets the boat stabilized, then reaches in and slaps Lux in the face, hard. Lux wakes up briefly, looking dazed.~
Xavier Lux: …. Peter? Izzat you?
Peter Vaughn: What the hell happened, Xavier?
Xavier Lux: … That was some blowjob…
~With a little chuckle, Lux passes out again. Vaughn raises both eyebrows.~
Peter Vaughn: Yeah, I don’t want to know…
~Vaughn reaches into the boat, starting to drag Lux out of it. He gets him onto the beach, trying to get him into position for a fireman’s carry. But Vaughn stops when his phone goes off, getting his attention. He gets up, answering it.~
Peter Vaughn: The Mechanic here…. Who’s that? … SEB? I can barely hear you… what? You’re WHERE? Well, hell, why are you calling me? Wouldn’t Chris be the right… you can’t reach him? Look, I’ve got something else I’ve got to… no, I get it, we’re teammates… I know you THINK you’re our captain… *sigh* Look, give me a few minutes, I’ll head your way… what? Keep an eye out for your hat? I… I don’t even know what that means… I’ll see you soon…
~Vaughn hangs up the phone, straightening up as he looks down at Lux. He shakes his head.~
Peter Vaughn: Why is it always down to ME to clean everything up??
~With a sigh, Vaughn hauls Lux up and starts to head towards the hotel… not noticing the second rowboat that’s making its way to the beach.~
It doesn’t matter if you’ve put together the greatest of plans for the most successful of days. Plans can always be changed, with or without you wanting them to.
Here I was, all set to be part of Team Page’s absolute domination of Team Hitmaker. That was basically the only reason I signed on, because I loved the idea of taking out all of Hitmaker’s favorites… and maybe getting an opportunity to land the Plunge on the man himself. But here we sit, with Hitmaker having departed under mysterious circumstances, and now it’s Team Page vs… Team Black.
Talk about a twist I was never expecting. But while you may think this would be enough for me to bail on the TFCE, I’ve always been one to honor my commitments. Besides, I at least know one of these boyos.
Hello, Corey Black! Long time no see! What’s it been, ten months or so? I’m assuming you remember me. I mean, how could you forget? It was in the Pro Wrestling Valor Roth Invitational, with the PWV World Title on the line. You and I had a hell of a fight in the semi-finals, eventually going to a draw, and putting us both there at the end along with El Diablo Blanco.
We never really did get a conclusive decision between us, did we? But then, none was needed. I took full advantage of a mistake from El Diablo, and before you knew it, you were watching me hold up the championship. Did that bother you, I wonder? To get so close to the end, after fighting so many battles, and avoiding getting pinned, only to come up short anyways?
I don’t know how it felt, really. I know I was feeling pretty good. That championship felt pretty right on my shoulder, at least for a short while.
So here we are again. Peter Vaughn vs. Corey Black. You’d think someone would have wanted the rematch of the century, but it never did go down that way, did it? Instead, now you’ve got your teammates that you pulled to help you at the last minute… and I’ve got some of the greatest wrestlers in the world on my side.
Man, your luck really does stink at times, boyo.
~We find ourselves inside a relatively modest hotel room. Despite having lots of success over the past year, Peter Vaughn has never been one to spend his money excessively. Plus, it’s possible this is just where CCPE opted to put him up. Regardless, we see Vaughn, having changed in the bathroom, now moving around a coffee pot, making a special concoction. Behind him, Xavier Lux is still snoozing sideways on the single bed. Vaughn finishes what he’s doing and comes over, managing to lift Lux up.~
Peter Vaughn: Here you go, Xavier. When you need to be on your feet instantly, there’s nothing like the Mechanic’s Sober Shot.
~Lux, with no clue what he’s drinking, takes it down. Seconds later, Lux’s eyes go wide and he leaps to his feet, gasping. He runs past Vaughn to grab a water bottle sitting on the desk, quickly chugging it down to try and put out the flames he feels in his throat.~
Xavier Lux: *Cough Cough* WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??
Peter Vaughn: That… was you costing me about $10 on a bottle of water. You never take anything from the mini-bar, man.
~Lux doesn’t seem to care, as he finishes the bottle, spitting out some of the last bit after swishing it in his mouth. He throws the bottle in the trash, then looks around.~
Xavier Lux: How did I get here? And what did you do to me?
Peter Vaughn: Don’t worry about it. You’ll be feeling good for at least the next couple of hours. As for how you got here, I don’t have a clue. You just showed up on the beach. Now, look, we don’t have time for this. We need to get going and break Seb out of jail.
Xavier Lux: Oh, I see, we’re going to WHAT??
~Vaughn, ignoring Lux, grabs his room key and heads to the door. He swings it open, stepping into the hallway… where he’s immediately grabbed around the throat!! A hairy guy who could only be described as a pirate hangs on, yanking Vaughn back, while a second pirate starts to head into the room to go for Lux.~
Pirate: You think you can just avoid Davey Jones’ locker??
~immediately, Vaughn breaks free of the pirate, surprising him. He then leaps up, grabbing hold of the guy… and lands the Revenged!! The pirate’s hat flies off, landing nearby, as Vaughn kips up to his feet. Inside, the second pirate, startled, starts to turn around, only to get laid out by a superkick from Lux! Vaughn shakes his head, kicking at the guy.~
Peter Vaughn: Not now. We don’t have time for this.
Xavier Lux: Yeah, sorry. That one’s kind of my fault.
Peter Vaughn: Just drag that guy out of my room and let’s go.
~Lux hauls the pirate out, tossing him into the wall outside the room, while Vaughn, on a whim, leans over and picks up the pirate hat. He shrugs, taking it with him as the two men start jogging down the hall.~
When I’ve got a goal in mind, it’s best not to get in my way.
So let’s talk about the four who decided to jump into our path along with ol’ Corey B. Spencer Adams. CJ Phoenix. Regan Voorhees. Jill Park.
I don’t know any of you.
But never let it be said that I don’t do my homework before a match. As soon as I found out the change in opponents, I began to research all of you.
I know that Spencer Adams is a former AW World Heavyweight Champion back in 2018, although it appears that he’s lost a step or two in the last four years, as he’s never made it back to the top of the mountain. I’ve been there four times in the last year, myself. I’m hoping for five before the end of 2022… if not more.
But hey, Spencer’s become a tag specialist, because those who can’t do it on their own, find a partner who can. Good for him. But then, maybe it was Spencer who carried CJ to the Tag Titles. I mean, Spencer may not be able to climb anymore, but at least he got to the top once. CJ, it looks like, has just had a cup of coffee as the US Champion.
I mean, okay, gold is gold, I’ll admit. But our team is full of World Champions. CJ there seems like a weakness.
Then you’ve got Jason’s sister, Regan. Not quite the body count there, but three reigns as the Cruiserweight Champ. Hey, I’m a cruiserweight as well, so gotta applaud that. I just refused to stay in that division myself. I fight all sizes.
And finally, Jill Park, the current AW Women’s Champion. Hey, all the respect in the world. I’ve fought many of the toughest women in the world, so I see you as a complete equal in my eyes when we’re in the ring. I won’t be backing down in the slightest, and I expect you to give everything you’ve got as well.
It won’t be enough, but I still expect you to bring it.
Realistically, I see some names that have made an impact in AW… but haven’t been willing to venture out of their comfort zone that much. That’s the major difference between them and me. After all, I left OCW during the Purge to spread my wings elsewhere. I held the XWF Universal Title, the PWV World Title, the TPW International Title, and the Level Up Game Genie. I’m the current XWF Supercontinental Champion. I’ve won belts and awards everywhere I went.
And now I’m going to be 2-0 at Tara Fenix’s Charity Events. Because I’m just that much of a giver.
~We find ourselves outside of the Honolulu Coast Guard Station, as Vaughn and Lux pull up in Vaughn’s rental car. It’s nothing fancy, just something to get around, and it’s a two-seater, which makes you wonder how they’re going to make Seb ride once they bail him out. But that’s for later. They run quickly inside, heading up to the main desk.~
Peter Vaughn: Excuse me. We’re here to look into bailing out…
Seb: WHERE’S MY HAT?? IT’S LOST OUT THERE!! IT NEEDS ME!!
~Both Vaughn and Lux look at each other, fighting the urge to laugh before Vaughn clears his throat and turns back to the annoyed-looking guard at the desk.~
Peter Vaughn: Yeah, uh, we’re here to take that guy off your hands…
Guard: … God bless you. Just let me get the bail notice set up.
~The guard goes to work, preparing the official document, as Lux glances over at Vaughn.~
Xavier Lux: We have to pay his bail? We should just leave him in there for the night.
Guard: Too late to take it back, you said it already…
Peter Vaughn: Don’t worry, Xavier, I’ve got this covered… or rather, Chris does.
~Vaughn slips a card out of his wallet, showing it to Xavier. It’s a travel credit card, with the logo of Chronic Chris Page Enterprises stamped onto it. Lux’s eyes light up.~
Xavier Lux: You’ve had that this whole time? You know how much we could have bought with that?
Peter Vaughn: Yep, which is why Chris gave it to me only… for emergencies. He knew I was the most reliable to hang onto it.
Xavier Lux: You mean the most boring…
~Vaughn shrugs, not caring to disagree at the moment. The guard finishes printing out the bail form, turning to Vaughn and taking his travel card.~
Guard: This will only take a moment.
Seb: YOU HAVE TO LET ME OUT OF HERE!! I WANT MY APPLETINI!!
Peter Vaughn: You probably should hurry.
~The guard, agreeing with Vaughn, rushes off to make the transfer. He’s soon back with the finished paperwork, and Vaughn scrawls a signature onto the form. It’s completely unreadable, but the guard doesn’t care. He gives Vaughn the travel card back and signals to the other guards.~
Guard: Get that guy out of there. He’s free to go.
~There is a sigh of relief from the other guards as they hurry to the back. Soon, Seb comes walking proudly out of the back, moving up towards Lux and Vaughn. He smiles at them.~
Seb: Thank you for the freedom, my teammates! Hey, where are your shirts?
~Both Lux and Vaughn look down, as neither is wearing the James Raven Abs shirts that Seb previously gave them.~
Peter Vaughn: I think mine’s in the car.
Xavier Lux: Mine could be anywhere.
Seb: Well, none of that matters right now. What matters is that we need to go search the evidence room.
Peter Vaughn: …. What?
Seb: My hat has to be there! Unless it’s back on the ship. But we have to look everywhere for it.
Peter Vaughn: Something tells me that hat is long gone.
~Seb stares at Vaughn for a moment, before grabbing him by the front of his shirt.~
Seb: I’m a captain! I have to have a hat!
~Vaughn, thinking it over, reaches behind him and pulls out the pirate hat he secured earlier tonight. He lifts it up, catching Seb’s eye.~
Peter Vaughn: What about this?
~Surprised, Seb studies the pirate hat for a few seconds. He then smiles and places the hat on his head, immediately seeming to transform in front of their eyes. He turns to the guards, giving a quick bow.~
Seb: Goodbye, you landlubbers. This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Seb-bow.
~Seb turns and struts off, walking in the familiar cadence of the Pirates of the Caribbean star. Lux and Vaughn smirk at each other before following him out. They get out onto the street, with Seb leading the way… the wrong way, so Vaughn quickly clears his throat and points down the sidewalk towards his rental. Seb nods, immediately changing direction… just as the rental car EXPLODES!!! All three men hit the deck as the car is apparently obliterated. Vaughn sits up, his eyes widening at the destruction of his rental.~
Xavier Lux: Damn. Hope you bought that rental insurance, Pete.
Peter Vaughn: … I doubt it covers something like this.
Seb: How badly did you park??
Peter Vaughn: What? I didn’t do…
~Suddenly, in front of the wreckage of the burning vehicle, we see three men step out. All three are brandishing pistols. They all point them at the wrestlers, who have no way to defend themselves.~
ALF Member: For the good of the American Liver Foundation, you have all been sentenced to death!
Peter Vaughn: ….. Huh??
~The guns are cocked back.~
You’ve always got to roll with the punches in this business.
I’ve made a specialty of it. Most people look at me and think, he’s a former Janitor, how can he be a threat? They usually get more and more frustrated as they dish out their best moves, and I… keep… coming… back.
Hopefully Corey’s told all of his team about how I’m hard to stop, so that they’re not taken completely by surprise. But if they underestimate me, hey, I’m used to it.
When it all comes down to it, though, I trust myself, and I trust in the talent of my team. We have the cream of the CCPE crop. Seb is one of the great young wrestlers in the world today, soon to hold almost every championship you can think of. Mark Flynn is the current XWF Universal Champion, and he may hold that belt for a damn long time, assuming I don’t get the itch to take it from him. Xavier Lux has continued to add gold to his championship trophy case for years, and I expect him to continue that tradition in the coming months.
And then, of course, we have James Raven.
#HailRaven
He’s easily one of the greatest wrestlers I’ve ever seen. I’ve emulated him throughout the last year, trying to become as dominant as he has been. Sure, I’m looking forward to breaking his spine at CCPE Vs. The World, but until then, I’m still one of his biggest admirers. Quite frankly, I feel sorry for anyone who has to face a team with both of us on it.
All-in-all, Chris Page has put together a superior team that would have blown through Team Hitmaker with ease. Why do you think that team pulled out? Do you really believe it was ‘scheduling issues’? Don’t make me laugh. They ran, and good for them for doing so.
Team Black won’t run. You guys are committed. That’s your funeral.
Once you’ve been torn to shreds, and Corey’s likely the last one standing on your team, those of you who are still conscious will have to watch as I soar in from above. Corey will be taking the Plunge. And our team will be on its way to another victory.
I look forward to the challenges ahead, small and large alike.
~As Seb, Lux, and Vaughn brace themselves to make a frantic dash forward (or to the side), a loud horn is suddenly heard. All three men turn to their right… just as a large pick-up truck slams into them!! All three of the ALF members go flying, screaming as they crash backwards to the ground. As the fire from Vaughn’s blown-up rental car shines behind him, the driver pops his head out of the window.~
Mark Flynn: I was wondering if you guys were going to get into trouble without me. Get in!
Seb: Hey! I give the orders on this team! Peter, Xavier, get in the back. I call shotgun!
~Seb runs forward, as Lux looks ready to attack him from behind. Vaughn pats him on the shoulder.~
Peter Vaughn: It’s not worth it. Save it for another time.
~The two men hurry after Seb, jumping into the bed of the pick-up truck. Vaughn’s quick to open the back window, leaning in slightly to talk to Flynn.~
Peter Vaughn: So what’s all THIS about, and why did it cost me my rental deposit?
Mark Flynn: Don’t worry about it. It’s all been taken care of.
~Flynn peels out of the lot, causing Vaughn to fall backwards into the truck. In the meantime, we see the three ALF members in various states of injury. One manages to sit up, holding onto his badly injured arm. He glares after the truck.~
ALF Member: We’ll get you yet, Flynn! We’ll…
~Suddenly, the man hears a scrabbling noise and turns, looking back. He gasps, as he sees a virtual army of lab rats with human-sized livers on their backs, coming straight towards them. He tries to start dragging himself away, but all three men are soon overwhelmed, screaming as the mice take their revenge. It’s not a pretty sight, but all the same, it’s rather satisfying.~
~We switch back to the pick-up truck, where Vaughn has managed to right himself, sitting up. He has no idea what’s just happened behind him.~
Peter Vaughn: So, does anyone know where Raven and Atara are?
Xavier Lux: Last I saw them, they were at the bar.
Seb: I’ve got this.
~Seb reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone, which he had gotten back from the guards earlier. He brings up a program, using it to track someone’s position.~
Peter Vaughn: Wait a second, did you plant a bug on James Raven??
Seb: Of course not. I just linked to his phone in the airport, so I could find him if needed. I did the same to all of yours as well.
~The truck is quiet, as all three wrestlers stare at Seb from their different positions. He shrugs.~
Seb: You all need to think about getting better security on your phones. Turn left up here.
~After a moment, Flynn does so, taking them up towards the main part of town. By following Seb’s directions, they find themselves in front of the fanciest hotel in this part of Honolulu, the Halekulani Hotel. All four wrestlers look rather impressed with the building in front of them.~
Mark Flynn: He’s staying here?
Xavier Lux: No way Page paid for this.
Peter Vaughn: Wait, did Page pay for your hotel room? Son of a… I’m using this travel card again, soon…
Seb: Hey, there they are!!
~Seb points to the side, as we see James & Atara Raven walking out of the hotel, dressed up and ready to hit the town. They’ve clearly recovered from whatever adventure they had earlier tonight. Seb reaches over and hits the horn, getting their attention.~
Seb: James! Atara! Your ride is here!
~Both Ravens stare over at the truck, which probably has a few bloodstains across the front of it now. The windshield definitely has a few new cracks. Atara shakes her head and turns to James, who is already signaling for their ride. A stretch limousine pulls up, with the Ravens getting inside. Seb, watching for a moment, seems to have a brainwave.~
Seb: Of course! We should be riding like kings & queens to the cruise ship! C’mon, everyone!
~Seb gets out of the truck and runs towards the limo, apparently moving fast enough to keep anyone from locking the doors. He goes inside, as Flynn shrugs and puts the truck in neutral. He gets out, looking back at Lux & Vaughn.~
Mark Flynn: You might want to get out.
~He pushes the truck with his foot, starting it rolling back down the road. With instincts honed over hundreds of matches, both Lux and Vaughn make it out, landing on the road. They look back as the truck disappears behind a grove of trees. Both men look at each other, then decide to just head for the limo. They get inside along with Flynn, joining Atara and James, who appear to be hiding what they think of all this. Seb moves to the front of the limo, tapping on the glass.~
Seb: We’re all here, good sir! Set sail, it’s time for more adventure!
Driver: …. Yes, sir.
~The sliding window slowly comes up, blocking Seb from the driver, as the limousine pulls out and heads out. The team has been reunited, and are now ready for the decimation of Team Black. May the Hawaiian Gods take pity on them, for there will be none given from the CCPE.~
