ENTRANCE: The lights on the ship fade slowly to black. A booming voice echoes throughout the high seas, the beginning of "Omerta" by Lamb of God plays.
"Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both.
For a wounded man will shall say to his assailant.
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honor."
The crowd picked up the lyrics and has began shouting them at the top of their lungs as the song kicks in, a white spotlights hits the stage and there, standing in all his glory is the King of All Wrestlers Corey Black. Clad in his ring gear with a fur piece that goes over his head and rests upon his shoulders, a long cape protrudes from the back of the fur, purple on the inside and black on the outside. A helm sits upon Black's head, encompassing his entire cranium. His eyes pierce through the mouth of the beastly helm, mythical surely. It appears to be dragon-like in nature, gray leaning black in color and glowing green eyes, but alas a crown sits upon it as well. Corey stands at the top of the ramp for a few moments, looking out into the raging crowd. At his leisure, he begins walking down toward the ring, almost stalking it. He walks over to the steps, scaling them and entering the ring through the ropes to a roaring crowd. He slowly removes the creature helm, looking out on the sea of humanity appreciative of his presence. The helm now placed in the corner shoots a few bursts of steam from its nose, delighting and popping the crowd once more! Corey takes the fur and cape off, dropping it next to the helm as a crew member retrieves them and Corey stands in his corner, stoic, waiting for the match to commence.
WRESTLING STYLE: All Rounder (Mainly Strong Style, High Flying, Technical) (relies on strikes and counters leading to higher impact dives and throws)
- Will flip out of moves and land in the "superhero landing pose" to annoy opponents, making them charge in and get caught with a counter move.
- Delivers strikes to the back of the head, seated, or kneeling opponent in an attempt to end a match.
- Commonly does moves into the turnbuckle. Suplexes, powerbombs, slams, etc.
- Strings moves together to end a match. Superkick, superkick, discus lariat is a common combo but anything and everything is possible. Triple rolling brainbusters? Sure. Of course.
- Flash roll-ups are not an uncommon occurrence.
- Sometimes kicks out at 1 after a big move late in the match.
- Does moves onto the apron either for more damage or as a punctuation.
- Very good at creative reversals.
- Will absorb strikes and stare at the opponent before unleashing a massive strike of his own, normally a lariat.
- Rarely showboats, usually does moves quickly and with purpose.
- Not the best at submissions, but can maneuver out of most due to years of training.
- Doesn't spend much time outside the ring when a count out is in effect. Will dive onto opponents, but doesn't waste time brawling.
- Utilizes various colors of the "Asian Mist" as a last resort tactic if the opponent will not go down.
MOVELIST:
Strikes:
Elbow strikes (to head, face, chest, knees, legs, arms etc), knee strikes (same), most kicks (roundhouse, dropkick, front, side, spinning, heel, Yakuza Kick etc), discus clothesline, slaps - Corey doesn't really punch, Superkick, Shining Wizard
Grapples:
Suplexes (t-bone, gargoyle, vertical, exploder, german, half nelson, tiger, dragon etc), DDTs (normal, jumping, running, Asai etc), Slams (body, side, spike uranage, STO, etc), Neckbreakers (sitdown, spinning, Stunner, Cutter), Bombs (normal, sitout, kneeling, crucifix etc)
Running:
Yakuza Kick, Busaiku Knee Strike, Dropkick, Pump kick, Clotheslines (normal, flip, leaping etc), spear, leaping double stomp (CD will either run at or catch a running opponent in the chest/head with both feet and forcefully stomp them down to the mat. Requires CD to leap high and bring his knees up to get the kind of height needed)
Aerial:
Elbow drop, leg drop, moonsault, springboard variations (from middle rope, top rope, outside to top to inside, etc) Splashes (normal, twisting, 360, shooting star, frog) Sentons (back, flip), Double Stomp (normal, moonsault to, front flip to)
Corner:
Tornado DDT, running Yakuza Kick, running dropkick, middle/top rope versions of other moves listed
Submission:
Dragon Sleeper, Triangle Choke, Single Leg Boston Crab, Cross Arm Breaker
TRADEMARKS:
Brainbuster
Fisherman Brainbuster
Backdrop Driver
Lariat (running, spinning, charged from standing base)
Reverse Rana
Falcon Arrow
Death Valley Driver
Tombstone Piledriver (normal, sitout, spinning, off the middle rope, through tables, on a chair, whatever)
V-Trigger knee strike
Penalty Kick (running punt type kick to the head/chest of a seated opponent)
Rolling Elbow
450 Splash
"Taking The King's Ransom" - Corey will pick the opponent up onto his shoulder and clutch their head behind his back in an Air Raid Crash/White Noise/Belly to Back Piledriver hold. From here, he'll pull their head forward and drop to one knee, dropping the opponent neck/head first onto his leg while being held upside down. Similar to Okada's knee drop Air Raid Crash.
Corey takes the opponent and applies a front face lock. He then front flips over the opponent in a move resembling a Northern Lights Suplex by his opponent, but instead CD delvers a front flip DDT. Depending on the momentum he gets while jumping, the opponent will either spike ridiculously awkward or backflip over and get dominated. Sometimes this move is held after the flip, Corey wraps his legs around the opponent and holds them in a Guillotine Choke, this variation is called "The Oxygen Destroyer."
"The Flight of Rodan" - With the opponent laying on the mat, Corey runs toward the ropes and leaps up to the middle rope like he was going for a Lionsault. Instead, he springs backward while rotating forward, executing a springboard imploding 450 Splash to the opponent.
"Kiryu Cutter" - A variation on The Flight of Rodan, Corey will spring off the middle rope and fly backward while rotating forward in an imploding flip - only this is to a standing opponent. As he comes back he clutches the head of the opponent and executes a Cutter/RKO. Used as a finisher while under the mask in Japan.
FINISHERS:
"For Victory or Death" - Repeated elbow strikes to the side of the opponent’s head while holding the opponent in a modified seated abdominal stretch. Either KO or submission.
"The Royal Beheading" - Corey maneuvers the opponent to a position where they are on one knee, "bent knee before the king" if you will, usually done with a superkick to the knee. From here Corey will charge in, be it a couple steps or bouncing off the ropes, coming in at the rear of the opponent with a swinging elbow strike to the back of their head. Absolutely devastating move.
Burning Hammer (the killshot for sure, if someone won't go down - this will put them down.)
BRIEF HISTORY: Wrestling is basically all Corey Black knows. He began training at age 17, debuted at age 18, and hasn't looked back ever since. His home life wasn't great. It never is for professional wrestlers, is it? A few dead family members here, a few there, and a chance meeting at a professional wrestling training school later - a future King is born. Inching ever closer to 40 years old and likely the twilight of his career, Corey Black has done it all in his circle except one thing; venture outside it. A combined total of ten World Championship wins, a multitude of secondary and tag title wins including a record 344 day Hardcore Title reign in Action Wrestling, down to creating his own pay-per-view event that takes place Friday the 13th and has since 2007 - if it's able to be done, it's likely Corey Black has done it.
