NAME: James Raven
STAGE NAME: James Raven
NICKNAME(s): The Peoples G.O.A.T.
WHAT COMPANY ARE YOU REPRESENTING? FIGHT! NYC

HEIGHT: 6’ 3”
WEIGHT: 222 lbs
DATE OF BIRTH: April 15, 1990
RESIDING FROM: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
PIC BASE: Ryan Reynolds
FONT COLOR: Dodgerblue, but any blue really.
THEME SONG: “Bleed it Out” by Linkin Park
ENTRANCE:
A familiar riff blares from the speakers as the fans on the ship rise to their feet in excitement, waiting for the voice of Mike Shinoda…
“NOW HERE WE GO FOR THE HUNDREDTH TIME!”
They explode as Linkin Parks “Bleed it Out” signals the arrival of The People’s GOAT, James Raven making his way through the curtain to the delight of nearly every man, woman or child in attendance. He’s dressed in a pair of black swim trunks, two inflatable water wings strapped around his biceps and a super soaker that would make John Rambo jealous strapped around his bare chest.
With a smile, he aims the water gun into the crowd and begins to fire before handing the heavy artillery to a nearby child and winking at his mother which nearly causes her to faint. No, really. She wobbled and everything. It was almost a really bad scene.
James makes his way to the ring, removing the inflatable water wings and a pair of swimming goggles he’d had loosely around his neck. He tosses them into the crowd and jumps up to the apron, stepping through the ropes and preparing for action.
WRESTLING STYLE: James is pretty well rounded and is comfortable using a variety of strategies, but he relies on strength and overpowering an opponent the least. He will wear opponents down with technical skill and quick, athletic and often aerial attacks while leaning on his own excellent cardio. Once he feels they’ve lost a step he will often transition to his BJJ black belt and take the opponent to the mat, looking to capitalize on mistakes and find a submission or at least drain the rest of their gas tank before looking for a finish.

BRIEF HISTORY:
(Copied from FIGHT! NYC roster page I posted last week.)
Born to a well known doctor (Jonathan) and a socialite philanthropist (Martha), James is the middle of three children and grew up comfortably in the Bridle Path neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. At the age of 17 family differences led to James leaving home and moving to the United States with his older brother T.J., who was a wrestler signed with the developmental brand of the XWF, and one day watched from ringside as his brother suffered a career ending injury in March of 2007.
James ultimately signed with the XWF in his brothers place and rose through the ranks, surpassing his brothers accomplishments within three months and winning his first World title when he was 19. James spent the next several years becoming the face of the XWF, and working with many affiliated companies including TWC, WGWF, and HWO. He was eventually inducted into the Halls of Fame for all four companies after compiling a combined record of 250+ wins and less than 50 losses, and collecting countless awards and championships along the way.
He has owned his own federations, GM'd for multiple companies (including most recently in OCW), run businesses (including most prominently the HILITE FC gym, the Toronto Frost womens football team, and Ravens Nest Media among others) and is a legitimately self made millionaire.
He was married once to retired wrestler and World Champion Mia Sanchez, but the two divorced in 2012. He has a 13 year old son named Tyler who spends the majority of the year in Phoenix, Arizona with his mother. In the MMA world he is a Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and 4-0 inside the cage. He has had a small but moderately successful run in acting, and tried his hand at a variety of other creative outlets. Overall he has built himself a massive platform and dedicated following through all of his exposure, and is not only a massive star within his sport but a recognizable name and face around the globe.
Known for building relationships and strong alliances, James enters FIGHT! NYC as a likely member of The New Status Quo after helping to ensure their victory at Ascension when he entered The Tower as the final mercenary. He has been in a loving and committed relationship with Betsy Granger for over two years, and was the record setting and industry dominating tag team partner of Shawn Warstein when the two united as “Legacy” after first meeting in 2007. He has also been socially linked to Dickie Watson, Aiden Reynolds and Kasey Winterborn for a substantial amount of time.
